25-26-27: Dan flies to Sacramento with his rusty (oops -- he meant trusty) cornet, where he will perform at the Sacramento Hot Jazz Jubilee. He’ll be joining his good friend, drummer Vince Bartels and the Vince Bartels All-Stars (AKA the Migrant Jazz Workers). The band plays in the loose free-wheeling style associated with Eddie Condon. It features these true jazz greats: Allan Vache, clarinet; Russ Phillips, trombone; Jennifer Leitham, bass; Jason Wanner, piano; Vince and Dan. For more information: www.hotjazzjubilee.com

1-2-3-4: Dan will play with two excellent big bands for the international swing dance event known as Camp Hollywood.  This exciting dance party takes place each year at the LAX (Los Angeles Airport) Marriott Hotel. On Friday and Saturday nights, Dan will be featured on trombone with the Jonathan Stout Orchestra. On Monday night, Dan will be guesting with bassist Michael Gamble’s Rhythm Serenaders. www.camphollywood.net

8: Dan performs with the new, Los Angeles-based band, The Swingliners. This grr-r-r-great new group boasts no less than three great vocalists: Lia Booth; Jack Wood; and Dave Tull; plus Dan’s trombone; Benjamin May’s bass; Miles Jensen’s guitar; and leader Bradley Young at the piano. The band performs at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Newport Beach, CA (To be clear, the event is open to the public!) 14-17: Dan returns to the Cleveland Classic Jazz Party. This event was originally the “Conneaut Lake Jazz Festival” many years ago. It migrated to Chautauqua, NY, which was its home for many years. Recently, the party gave itself a new name and has moved again to the beautiful Wyndham Hotel at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio. Producer Nancy Griffith has assembled yet another terrific, all-star line-up of musicians (including many of Dan’s favorite people and players) who specialize in more “Traditional” and “Swing” styles and who love the special songs of the “Great American Songbook.” It’s always a special, “warm and fuzzy” event, with a “family” feeling about it, with lots of time to socialize with the musicians.  For more info about this very special jazz event: www.alleghenyjazz.org

19-20-21-22: Dan returns to the Roswell Jazz Festival. He looks forward to performing with the Festival’s great roster of talent.  This year, the lineup includes two of Dan’s close friends who are also two of his favorite trombonists: Russ Phillips and John Allred. The RJF has venues all over town and is lots of fun for jazz fans of all ages. Come enjoy the great music and see the many shops and museums dedicated to UFOs and Extra Terrestrials. Even if you’re a first-time visitor, we promise you won’t feel alien! roswelljazzfestival.org
